Rauner Makes Recommendation For Topinka Replacement

(Chicago, IL) -- House Speaker Michael Madigan says there won't be a special session to pick a replacement for the late Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka. A spokesman for incoming Governor Bruce Rauner said Thursday that Rauner's legal team met with the legal team of Governor Pat Quinn to relay Rauner's request that Topinka Chief of Staff Nancy Kimmem be appointed comptroller through January 12th. Quinn hasn't responded yet to the request.
