WBYS has teamed up with the Humane Society of Fulton County to help orphaned animals have a better chance of finding a home with our  "Pets of the Week" feature.  Each week the Humane Society chooses a different cat and dog to be our featured "Pets of the Week".  Each Tuesday and Thursday at 9:45am Mark Bixler will bring you details on a cat and dog that are in need of their furever home.

About Al

Pet of the Week-Al! Al was the best model for our Christmas photo shoot yesterday! This big sweetie has been with us for over four months and is really hoping to find his forever home before Christmas.

If you're looking for an affectionate lap kitty, Al is your guy. He is between four and five years old and is neutered, FeLV tested negative, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, and microchipped. He did test positive for FIV, so he will need to be the only kitty in the home or go to a home with other FIV+ kitties.

Come meet this awesome guy, and consider making his Christmas wish come true! You can also call the shelter at 1-309-647-5077 for more information about Al.

About Windham

The adventures of Windham!!! This 3 to 4 year old Walker Coonhound is having the time of his life in his foster home...he came to us a couple months back as a stray and sadly never reclaimed...and then he tested Heartworm positive. BUT that didn't even affect this guy...and took it all in stride. So we scheduled his Heartworm treatment and his Facebook post worked...It got him a foster home for his recovery period.

NOW...he wants to get lucky again and find his FOREVER home. He is doing great after his treatment and he is feeling so much better.

We get updates and pictures from his foster parents every few days and WOW he is having fun. Car rides, going to the Pet store and picking up a new harness, enjoying all the friends and family that come to the fosters home, snuggling and loving on his foster fur brothers and sisters (CATS), and the best thing is all the trips to the ice cream stand!!! He loves his pup cups!!!

Windham has very good house manners and is housetrained. He loves people very much and would love for his new family to be home with him a lot...and he would also enjoy another dog in his new home. He is pretty active now that he is feeling better and LOVES to go for walks and run and play.

Windham is not at the shelter but in a foster home...so please call the shelter at (309) 647-5077 if you are interested in meeting this amazing dog and learn about our foster to adopt program for dogs undergoing heartworm treatment. You can also call 1-309-647-5077 to find out more information about Windham!
