Peoria Woman Arrested After Traffic Stop

(Canton, IL) -- A Peoria woman is facing charges after a recent traffic stop in Canton that took place earlier this week. Canton police say they stopped the vehicle after observing that it didn't have a working registration light. After making the traffic stop, the driver was identified as 40-year old Charlotte L. Weber. She was unable to provide police with proof of insurance. It was also found that Weber's driver's license had been revoked. She was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where she was processed on charges of driving with a revoked driver's license and for driving a motor vehicle without proof of insurance. She posted a $150 cash bond and also a $20 processing fee. Weber was then given a January Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.

Search For Peoria Man Believed To Be Involved In Shooting Ends With Body Being Discovered

(Peoria, IL) -- The search for a man Peoria police have been looking for in regard to a shooting that occurred earlier this week. Police say the body of 34-year old Reginald Williams was found in an alley that is off of the 2600 block of Prospect Road in Peoria. Authorities had been searching for Williams in connection with the shooting of his estranged wife 34-year old Ladequa Williams on Wednesday night in the 2600 block of Maryland in Peoria. The Peoria County Coroner's office says that Reginald Williams died from a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities say that Ladequa Williams remains hospitalized but is expected to survive.

Elderly Woman Dies After Accident

(Peoria, IL) -- A traffic accident on Knoxville Avenue in Peoria has resulted in the death of an elderly woman. Authorities say that 90-year old Betty Harkin was waiting to turn left from Dearbrook Drive onto Knoxville Avenue Wednesday afternoon when another vehicle going north on Knoxville turned in front of the SUV Harkin was in, striking the front end. Harkin was taken to a Peoria Hospital after the accident. She died Thursday morning as a result of injuries suffered in the accident.
