Deer Hunters Having Better Year
(Springfield, IL) -- Illinois deer hunters are doing a little better this year, compared with last. Preliminary numbers from the firearm season show a three-percent rise in the number of deer taken, which translates to a total of 76-thousand-500 animals. Almost 60 counties had more deer killed; while almost 50 counties had fewer. The top counties were Pike, Jackson and Adams, each with more than 21-hundred deer shot. Fulton County followed with just under 2,000 deer shot.
