Galesburg VA Facility Closer To Being Renamed

(Galesburg, IL) -- The veteran's facility located in Galesburg is closer to having a new name. The U.S. Senate gave their unanimous approval to legislation that would change the facilities name to the "Lane A. Evans VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic recently. Evans died in November after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was a long time member of the U.S. House of Representatives as a member from the 17th Congressional District in Illinois. Evans was known as a champion for veterans' issues while he served in Congress. Evans was 63 at the time of his passing.
