Critics Unite To Oppose Comcast-Time Warner Merger

(Undated) -- A coalition of critics is uniting to try and stop the proposed Comcast-Time Warner Merger. The group includes satellite provider Dish Network, conservative commentator Glenn Beck's "The Blaze" website, and consumer advocacy organizations Public Knowledge and Consumer Action. They say the 45-billion dollar merger of the two biggest cable and broadband providers threatens competition and would violate federal antitrust laws. The opponents say the merger would give Comcast-Time Warner control of the highest-speed broadband available to 40-percent of U.S. homes. Comcast currently operates in much of west central Illinois.
