Traffic Stop Results In Canton Woman’s Arrest

(Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman is facing several charges after police in Canton made a traffic stop early Thursday morning. The police report shows that officers were on patrol and westbound on East Chestnut Street headed toward North 1st Avenue when they spotted an SUV traveling in the wrong lane near the intersection of North 1st and East Chestnut. Police say they were able to conduct the stop near the intersection of North 1st Avenue and East Locust Street. After making the stop, the driver of the vehicle was identified as 48-year old Connie J.Carvalho. She was unable to provide police with proof of insurance for the motor vehicle. Officers also detected an odor of alcohol. Carvalho was asked to exit the vehicle and authorities conducted several Field Sobriety tests which she allegedly failed. She was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department. Carvalho refused to give a breath sample. She was processed on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Carvalho posted her driver's license, a $100 cash bond and a $20 processing fee. She was then released after being given a January Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.

Valid Warrant Results In Canton Woman’s Arrest

(Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman wanted on an active warrant turned herself in to Canton police earlier this week. 52-year old Pamela K. Jokish was wanted on a 2007 Fulton County Traffic Warrant for improper lane usage. Jokish turned herself in on Tuesday afternoon at just after 1:15. She was then arrested and processed for the warrant. After posting a $250 cash bond and a $20 processing fee, Jokish was released after being given a January Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.

Pekin Woman Accused Of Animal Cruelty Wants Public Defender

(Pekin, IL) -- The woman from Pekin who is accused of animal cruelty after two dogs were found dead recently, wants a public defender. Regina Robards was arrested by police after the bodies of a puppy as well as a dog were found last month at her home. Authorities say that both animals had been starved and neglected. Robards has been charged with animal cruelty. She was in Tazewell County Circuit Court on Wednesday.

Quincy Police Release Photos Of Mall Robbery

(Quincy, IL) -- Quincy Police believe the release of photos of two men that robbed a local jewelry store could help in solving the case. Cops say a pair of black men in their early 20s asked a Zales employee to look at some diamond earrings Tuesday night. The suspects then forced four pairs of earrings out of the worker's hands. Police say the men sped away in a black SUV.

Teens Accused Of Stealing Guns, Planned Sale To Ferguson

(Centralia, IL) -- A couple of teens from Illinois are in hot water with the law. Centralia Police say 19-year-old Dakota Moss and a 17-year-old minor are accused of stealing weapons, with plans to sell them to people in Ferguson. The pair faces several state and federal charges after they were suspected of breaking into a Buchhelt store last Saturday. So far, authorities have found 31 of the 40 weapons that were taken from the store.

Nursing Home Employee Accused Of Hitting Patient

(Champaign, IL) -- An employee of the Champaign County Nursing Home is being accused of hitting a patient. Charges haven't been filed against the nursing assistant yet, but nursing home administrators want the sheriff's office to investigate the incident that reportedly happened a week ago. According to the state's attorney, the nursing assistant punched the patient in the arm after he hit her. Officials say there were no serious injuries.
