Truck Speed Limit Going Up On Interstates

(Springfield, IL) -- The speed limit for truck drivers is going up from 55-to-60-miles-an-hour starting January 1st. That includes I-74 in west central Illinois. Governor Pat Quinn vetoed the proposal back in August claiming increased truck speeds will lead to more vehicle crashes that result in death. Lawmakers in both the House and Senate voted to override the veto.
