Minimum Wage Bill Dies

(Springfield, IL) -- It looks like the minimum wage bill is dead in Springfield. The Senate sponsor was hoping to push the bill through by the end of the week. She'd even altered it so the wage would only jump to nine bucks an hour next year instead of ten, but there doesn't seem to be enough support in the House. A spokesman for Speaker Michael Madigan says they don't plan to vote on the issue before wrapping up veto session later today.
