Parents Still Putting Babies In Unsafe Cribs
(Undated) -- A new study shows that more than half of all parents still aren't getting the message when it comes to safe sleeping habits for their babies. Veronica Resa, with the state's Department of Children and Family Services, says putting things like stuffed animals, bumper pads, and excessive blankets inside the crib can cause serious harm. About four-thousand babies died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome each year in the U.S. And according to the research, that's the number one cause of death for kids under one-year-old. Experts say parents should take everything out of their baby's crib and put the baby in a cozy sleeper to make sure he or she stays warm.
