State Cash Helps Food Banks Upgrade
(Undated) -- Eight food banks across the state are getting an extra helping of state funds for training and modernization. Governor Pat Quinn announced the allotment of four-and-a-half-million-dollars today to food banks near Chicago, Peoria and Rockford. The capital fund money will be used to buy software and computers to help the food banks reduce paperwork and improve record-keeping efficiency, based on the experience of a pilot program at Chicago food pantries this year.
