Cyber Monday Shopping Undermines Workplace Productivity

(Undated) -- Cyber Monday is a big hit with shoppers but retail experts say it undermines workplace productivity. Trae Bodge of RetailMeNot.com says most employees will spend four hours online while at work Monday looking for bargains, but she says it's tough to resist. Bodge thinks workers are afraid they're going to miss something, like those lightning deals featuring 60 and 70-percent discounts if you act now. Her surveys found the worst offenders are parents who typically spend five hours at work shopping for Cyber Monday bargains. Bodge says, surprisingly, 85-percent of workers claim they've never been caught.
