Judge Denies Bid To Halt Fracking
(Madison County) -- A judge in Madison County is giving the state the green light to go ahead and get the fracking process underway. She shot down a lawsuit filed by southern Illinois landowners which aimed to put the new fracking rules on hold. The landowners argue the rules are flawed. Many of them have been fighting to keep fracking out of Illinois, claiming it can cause health problems and environmental issues. Supporters say Illinois has some of the toughest standards in the nation when it comes to protecting people's health and safety.
