Warming Centers Opening In Peoria

(Undated) -- Although it is beginning to get a little warmer, Peoria officials have opened up warming centers to offset the recent cold wave. The Salvation Army facility has seen an increase in the number of people seeking shelter. The Sylvia Fites Family Services Center has also been designated as a warming center. It's open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week. Warming Centers are also open at the Illinois Department of Human Services throughout the state. That includes the office that is located in Lewistown.
