Killeen Introduced As New U Of I President

(Chicago, IL) -- Timothy Killeen, the newly named president of the University of Illinois system, says he's dedicating his presidency to the students. At his introduction today in Chicago, Killeen said he was humbled to be selected by the board of trustees to succeed Bob Easter. The 62-year-old Killeen is attending receptions today in Chicago, Springfield and Urbana-Champaign. His five-year contract pays him up to 730-thousand-dollars a year. He comes to Illinois from the State University of New York, where he was vice chancellor for research.
