Finally A Winner In State Treasurer's Race

(Springfield, IL) -- Democratic state senator Mike Frerichs is accepting victory in the state treasurer's race. He'd been trailing Republican Tom Cross by a very narrow margin since election night, but a final count of absentee and provisional ballots put him over the top. Frerichs says he's looking forward to getting to work and helping get the state's economy back on track. He'll be sworn in in January.
