Domestic Situation In Canton Leads To Canton Mans Arrest (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after police were called to a domestic situation over the weekend in Canton. Authorities say they were dispatched to the 200 block of East Vine Street for the disturbance on Saturday night at just before 5:15. An investigation revealed that 46-year old Lawrence E. Dunn had held the 19-year old victim to the floor and also was choking him. Dunn was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on a domestic battery charge. He was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Norris Man Charged With Using Cell Phone While Driving In Canton (Canton, IL) -- A man from Norris was arrested last week after Canton police conducted a traffic stop after spotting the man using a wireless phone while he was driving. The police report indicated that the stop was made near the intersection of Railroad and South Main Streets Friday morning at just before 10:45. Police say that 47-year old Harold L. Pasco was southbound on Main and was holding a cell phone to his ear. An investigation after the stop also determined that Pasco had a suspended driver's license. He was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended driver's license as well as using a wireless phone while driving. Pasco was given a notice to appear and released at the scene with a December Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Canton Man Found To Have Active Warrant (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man wanted on an active warrant was arrested earlier this month. Police say that 42-year old Jacob Lemmerman was checking in with his probation officer at the Canton Fire Department located at 101 East Spruce Street when they were notified that Lemmerman was wanted on a Peoria County Warrant for possession of cannabis. Lemmerman was then arrested by police and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed for the warrant. He posted a $1,000 cash bond and a $20 processing fee. Lemmerman was then released after being given a December Peoria County Court date in Peoria. Bloomington Police Arrest Normal Man For Murder (Bloomington, IL) -- A Normal man is in police custody for a deadly weekend shooting in Bloomington. Cops say the incident happened Sunday morning near a building at 703 Turnberry Drive. Neighbors say they heard shots fired outside. Tracy Newsom is charged with the murder of Carlton Jordan. Quincy Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl (Quincy, IL) -- A Quincy man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old female is behind bars. Police arrested 21-year-old Akeel Hodge early Sunday morning. Cops caught him in the act with the girl inside a vehicle in Bob Bangert Park. Hodge is locked up in Adams County Jail. Beardstown Officer Arrested (Beardstown, IL) -- A Beardstown police officer is on the other side of the law. Officials aren't giving too many details but they say Rodney Wilson was arrested on theft charges last week. He's also accused of official misconduct and damaging government-supported property. Wilson has been on the force for 19 years. He's been placed on administrative leave while his superiors continue to investigate.
