Bill Aims To Save Horse Racing Industry
(Springfield, IL) -- Lawmakers are still trying to find ways to revive the horse racing industry. The latest proposal on the table would allow people to bet on old races. State Rep Dwight Kay is calling it "historical racing." Officials would pull out the old race terminals and hide all identifying information like horse names, dates, and where the race was run. Kay tells "Lee Enterprises" that the extra cash would help keep tracks afloat while lawmakers look for ways to expand gambling.
