Rauner Meets With Top Democrats
(Chicago, IL) -- Governor-Elect Bruce Rauner is trying to get acquainted with the state's top Democrats. He had a meeting with Senate President John Cullerton and House Speaker Michael Madigan in Chicago yesterday. They discussed the state budget, which will be the biggest issue that Rauner faces as he steps into the governor's role in January. That's when the income tax rate will roll-back from five percent to three-point-75-percent, leaving the state with a gaping multi-billion-dollar hole.
