Warrant Arrest
(Canton, IL) -- A Canton man wanted on an active warrant was arrested over the weekend in Canton. Police say they responded to a fight in progress call at 115 South 17th Avenue Saturday morning at just after 4:15. The complainant told authorities that two males were involved in a physical altercation. 31-year old Derek R. Wolfe was one of the men involved, the other was a 45-year old Canton male. During their investigation of the matter, police found that Wolfe was wanted on a Fulton County Warrant failure to appear for contempt off court. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed for the warrant. Wolfe was unable to post bond and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
Pekin Man Rescued At Pekin Water Treatment Plant
(Pekin, IL) -- A Pekin man who had to be rescued from a hole at the Pekin Water Treatment Plant was hospitalized Tuesday night. Authorities say the incident happened Tuesday morning at just after 11 when a pipe's heavy cap fell on the man, crushing one of his legs. The man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim, who was a contract worker for the plant.
