Grocers Allowed To Open Restaurants Serving Alcohol
(Peoria, IL) -- Peoria grocery stores can now open restaurants that serve alcohol. The City Council passed the measure that allows some supermarkets to get liquor licenses. The store has to be at least 50-thousand square feet and is required to be defined as a supermarket that mostly sells food. Currently, six stores fit those requirements. The Hyvee under construction near the Shoppes of Grand Prairie would make seven, when finished.
