Illinois Treasurer's Race Goes Into Overtime

(Springfield, IL) -- County election offices will have to put in extra work following the too-close-to-call Illinois Treasurer's race. At last count, Republican Tom Cross had a slim lead over opponent Michael Frerichs. Now, election officials in each county will continue to count votes, including provisional and mail-in ballots, until November 18th. After the board of elections gets the final results, it will announce the winner November 30th.
