Rauner Wins State's Top Job

(Chicago, IL) -- It looks like Illinois is getting a new governor. Bruce Rauner is the projected winner of yesterday's race. He beat out Governor Quinn with about 50-percent of the vote. He says he called the Democratic leaders in Springfield and let them know he's ready to work with them to get things done. Rauner will face a multi-billion-dollar budget shortfall as soon as he hits office if the income tax rate rolls back, like he wants it to. However, Governor Quinn isn't calling it quits just yet. Preliminary numbers show he lost the race to Republican Bruce Rauner yesterday, but Quinn says he won't concede until all of the votes are counted. That could take days. Quinn says he'll hold out for however long it takes.
