Traffic Stop Ends In Arrest
(Canton, IL) -- A traffic stop in Canton over the weekend resulted in a Canton mans arrest. Canton police say they made the stop after it ran a red light at the intersection of North 1st Avenue and East Locust Street Saturday morning at just before 2:15. After making the stop, officers identified the driver as 29-year old Adam G. Titus. An investigation found that Titus was wanted on an active 2014 Fulton County Felony Warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Police also determined that Titus had been drinking. He was given several field sobriety tests which he allegedly failed. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed on charges of DUI, DUI over .08 and for the warrant. Titus was unable to post bond and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
Police Arrest Man On Violation Of Protection Order
(Canton, IL) -- A Canton man was arrested by Canton police for allegedly violating an order of protection. Authorities say they were dispatched to the Sunset nursing home located on South 1st Avenue last month on October 24th when they received a complaint from a 48-year old Canton female that 48-year old Leslie A. Shone was walking around her vehicle in the parking lot of the nursing home. When police arrived, Shone was not found. Several witnesses confirmed that Shone had been in the parking lot near the victim’s vehicle. Police confirmed that there was a 500-foot stay away order against shone with the victim. Shone was later located last Friday night at just after 11 at Jack's Bar. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed on the charge. He was also found to be in possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams and a hitter pipe used to smoke cannabis. After being processed on the charges he was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
