Low Voter Turnout For Fulton County

(Lewistown, IL) -- It was a steady stream of voters at many precincts located in Fulton County during the General Election held on Tuesday. But still, less than 50 percent of registered voters went to the polls. Fulton County Clerk Jim Nelson said that he was disappointed with the number of voters that went to the polls to cast their ballots. In all during the General Election, 11,228 voters cast ballots of 25,594 registered voters. Nelson said that the number will go up with some additional provisional voters who had either moved and had not registered that move, or some that had not registered until yesterday will be added.
