Illinois Saw More Rain Than Normal In October

(Undated) -- We saw more rain than usual during the month of October. State Climatologist Jim Angel says the average rainfall was more than an-inch above average, but some places got hit harder than others. Rainfall totals were more moderate in other parts of the state. Southern Illinois saw between four and six inches. There were between two and four inches of rain in northern Illinois. Even some snow fell in parts of northern Illinois. The average statewide temperature came in at about 54 degrees.
