Tazewell County Clerk Has Opposition For First Time

(Pekin, IL) -- For the first time in 20 years, the Tazewell County Clerk has an election opponent. Incumbent Christie Webb has won each election unopposed since the 1990s. But this year, she's being challenged by County Board Member John Ackerman. The County Clerk is responsible for vital statistics of the county, including marriage licenses, birth and death certificates. Another duty is to manage voter registration and the election process.
