SRC Recipient Of Grant From USDA

(Canton, IL) -- A grant that will help Spoon River College purchase new equipment for its welding program was recently awarded to the college. Congresswoman Cheri Bustos made the announcement earlier this week. The $98,000 grant was awarded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Business Enterprise Grant program to promote the development of small and emerging businesses in rural areas and help fund employment related adult education programs. Bustos said she was pleased to announce this critical investment in workers looking to Spoon River College for quality job training. The SRC grant was part of a $4.9-million investment in 50 projects across the country.
