Madigan Urges Registry Check Before Halloween

(Undated) -- Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says it's a good idea to map your child's trick-or-treat route to make sure they avoid registered sex offenders. Madigan says the state's online registry can show parents where registered sex offenders live in their neighborhood. In addition, Madigan's office is conducting compliance checks to verify that offenders actually live where they claim to. Madigan's office says there are about 27-thousand-600 registered sex offenders in Illinois.
