Canton Teen Charged With Retail Theft

(Canton, IL) -- A Canton teen is facing charges after allegedly taking items from Dollar General Store last week. Canton police say they received a complaint last Friday afternoon at about 4:30 that a male had entered the store and took a bag of Reese's Cups and also a bottle of Powerade. The 15-year old Canton male had left the store before Canton police arrived. Officers located the teen in the 100 block of North 1st Avenue. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on a charge of retail theft. The teen was given a juvenile intake referral and then released to the custody of his parents.

Argument Results In Citation

(Canton, IL) -- An argument between two Canton residents resulted in one of them being cited for disorderly conduct last week. Canton police say that a 26-year old Canton female alleged that 50-year old Terry M. Rife was yelling obscenities at her over not being able to use the driveway between the two residence as well as leaves in the yard on Friday afternoon. After an investigation, police cited Rife with a city ordinance citation of disorderly conduct. He was given a notice to appear at the scene and has a December Fulton County Court date.

Charges Filed Against Chandlerville Woman After Traffic Stop

(Canton, IL) -- A traffic stop resulted in charges being filed against a Chandlerville woman. Canton police say they conducted the traffic stop on Tuesday of last week at about 11:40 in the 500 block of East Linn Street. Police say they received a complaint of a vehicle that was northbound on Illinois 78 heading into Canton. Police were able to locate the vehicle and conducted the stop. The drive of the vehicle was identified as 25-year old Kayla L. Hagen. An investigation determined that Hagen had a suspended driver's license. She was given a notice to appear and released at the scene with a December Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.

Warrant Results In Canton Mans Arrest

(Canton, IL) -- A Canton man, wanted on an active warrant, was arrested last week. Canton police say they observed 26-year old Dyshaun L. Mason at Jack's Bar on East Elm Street in Canton Thursday morning at just after midnight and knew that he was wanted on a 2014 Peoria County Traffic Warrant, failure to appear unlicensed driver. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed. Mason was unable to post bond and later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

Canton Man Arrested On Warrant

(Canton, IL) -- A Canton man was arrested on a valid warrant last week. Canton police say they arrested 30-year old Joseph P. Williams at 313 West Pine Street on Thursday of last week. Williams was wanted on a Stark County Warrant. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. Williams was unable to post bond and taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

Peoria Man Charged After Sunday Shooting

(Peoria, IL) -- A Peorian is facing charges after a shooting that occurred over the weekend in Peoria. Jalen Clark has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the Sunday morning shooting. Police say that the shooting occurred Sunday morning at 9:30 near the intersection of Sheridan and Loucks in Peoria. Clark was taken into custody shortly after the shooting.

Police Investigate Four Vehicle Crash, Washington Woman Dies

(Washington, IL) -- One person died after a crash in Washington that involved four vehicles. The Tazewell County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened Sunday afternoon on North Main and Illinois Route 14. Authorities say that 24-year-old Amy Hardin from Washington died at the scene. Police are still investigating.

Victims Of Sunday's Fatal Accident Near Tremont Identified

(Tremont, IL) -- Authorities have identified the two people who died in a two vehicle accident that happened near Tremont over the weekend. Authorities say that Avis Laumeier and Francis Knaak died as a result of injuries suffered in the Sunday afternoon accident just west of Tremont.
