Family Dollar Merger Vote

(Matthews, NC) -- Family Dollar shareholders are going to get a chance to vote next week on a merger with Dollar Tree. But the Matthews-based discount chain still has to work out the time, date and location of the vote. Family Dollar management favors the eight-point-five billion dollar deal over a nine-billion dollar proposal from Dollar General. Federal regulators are still reviewing both plans. Dollar General has stores located in Canton, Cuba, Farmington and Lewistown.
