Woman In Custody After Peoria Stabbing Death Over The Weekend

(Peoria, IL) -- Authorities have a Peoria woman in custody in connection with a stabbing that took place over the weekend in the River City killing a man. Peoria police say they arrested 25-year old Janay Hayes in connection with the stabbing death of 23-year old Cadman Coates of Peoria. Authorities say that Coates was stabbed Saturday morning and was found bleeding at about 6:15 that morning. He was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria where he died in the emergency room. Hayes is currently being held in the Peoria County Jail.
