Legendary Peoria High School Coach McClain Passes Away

(Urbana, IL) -- A former University of Illinois assistant basketball coach and state champion head coach at Peoria Manual has died. Wayne McClain passed away on Wednesday after recently suffering from pneumonia. The 60-year-old was the current basketball coach at Champaign Central High School, where he led the team to a regional title last year. McClain is best known for coaching Peoria Manual High School to three straight state basketball championships from 1995 to 1997.
