Abandoned Homes Demolished In Peoria

(Peoria, IL) -- Peoria is getting some help in ridding the city of eyesores. The City Council voted Wednesday night to grant 75-thousand dollars to tear down ten homes that are beyond repair. Officials say the empty buildings are invitations to the homeless, drug dealers and other problems. Peoria has already used grant money to demolish five abandoned homes in the last six weeks.
