Two Canton men Facing Charges After Police Conduct Well Being Check
(Canton, IL) -- Two Canton men are facing charges after Canton police stopped to make a well-being check when they spotted a vehicle with a man vomiting by the side of the car. Authorities say that the vehicle was occupied by four people, including the driver, a 22-year old Canton female when police stopped Sunday morning at about 1:30 at the intersection of 1st and Oak Streets. The officer making the stop, according to the police report, indicated that they detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. Police say that they male that was vomiting was identified as 20-year old Justin A. Siders. It was determined that he had been drinking. He was arrested and charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Another passenger that was identified as 22-year old Timothy M. Bates was found to be in possession of a hitter pipe and a plastic bag that contained under 2.5 grams of marijuana. Bates was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams. Both men were taken to the Canton Police Department where they were processed on the charges. Both Bates and Siders each posted a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee and was released with November Fulton County Court dates in Lewistown.
Cuba Man Facing Drug Charges
(Canton, IL) -- A Cuba man is facing charges after Canton police observed three people inside the wall area of the dumpster located at Taco Bell in Canton. Authorities say that when they were approaching the dumpster, one of the individuals put his hands behind his back as if he were trying to hide something. That person was identified as 20-year old Cole J. Swindler. He was found to have a hitter piple in his possession as well as 2 small plastic baggies that contained marijuana. Swindler was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams. He posted a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee. Swindler was then released and given a November Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.
Pekin Man On Trial In Peoria For Burglaries Of Businesses In Peoria County
(Peoria, IL) -- One of the two residents of Pekin who were arrested in connection with a rash of burglaries of businesses in Peoria County as well as in Tazewell County is now on trial in Peoria. The trial of 41-year old Brian Patterson started on Tuesday. He has been charged with one count of burglary. Patterson is due in Tazewell County Circuit court next week, charged with the break ins of businesses in East Peoria and Pekin.
Peorian Accused Of Attacking Code Enforcement Officer In Peoria Indicted
(Peoria, IL) -- The Peorian who authorities say allegedly attacked a code enforcement officer earlier this year was indicted by a Peoria County Grand Jury on Tuesday. 21-year old Ervin Allen has been charged with one count each of vehicular invasion and aggravated battery. The incident occurred last month on Russell Street. Peoria police say that the code enforcement officer was in a city marked car when the incident occurred. A jeep was going the wrong way. Allen is currently out of jail on bond. He is due back in Peoria County Circuit Court later this month.
