Three Juveniles Charged With Breaking Into Concessions Stands In Canton

(Canton, IL) -- Three Canton juveniles are facing charges after they allegedly broke into several concession stands at park district facilities in Canton. Canton police say that two 14-year olds and a 15-year old Canton male broke into concession stands at the baseball and softball sites as well as at the football stadium taking an undetermined amount of money during the early morning hours on Tuesday. The juveniles were located Tuesday afternoon at about 3 and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. The three were given juvenile intake referrals and released to the custody of their parents. All three have been charged with burglary and have a pending hearing.

Bar Disturbance In Canton Results In Canton Woman’s Arrest

(Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman was arrested earlier this week after Canton police were dispatched to a battery complaint at a downtown tavern. Authorities say that two females at Jack’s Bar located at 144 East Elm Street in Canton were fighting. The police report indicated that 40-year old Misty L. Beaird approached the victim, a 35-year old Canton female, who was allegedly sitting on Beaird’s ex boyfriends lap, pulling her hair from behind. The two then got into a physical altercation. After an investigation, Beaird was arrested on a battery charge and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. She was unable to post bond. Beaird was then taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

Pekin Man Arrested Following Fulton County Accident

(Fulton County, IL) -- A Pekin man was cited after a one vehicle accident that occurred in southern Fulton County. Troopers from the Illinois State Police say that 39-year old Damien M. Williams lost control of his semi-truck as he was traveling westbound on U.S. Route 24 near timothy Lane in Fulton County near Astoria. Authorities say that Williams went off the north side of Route 24, traveling down a deep embankment that caused his truck and trailer to overturn, blocking the eastbound lane of U.S. Route 24. Williams was transported to Mason District Hospital in Havana and later transferred to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for further treatment of injuries suffered in the accident. Williams was cited for improper lane usage.

Valid Warrant Results In Canton Mans Arrest

(Canton, IL) -- A Canton man who was wanted on an active warrant turned himself in to Canton police over the weekend. Authorities say that 44-year old Tylon W. Bailey was wanted on a valid 1995 Fulton County Warrant for contempt of court. Bailey turned himself in at the Canton Police Department Sunday night at just after 7. He posted a $100 cash bond and a $20 processing fee and was then released. Bailey was given a November Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.

Police Investigating Bloomington Shooting

(Bloomington, IL) -- Authorities in Bloomington are continuing to look into a shooting that happened earlier this week. Bloomington police say they were called to the 800 block of West Washington Street Tuesday night at just before 7 on the report of neighbors hearing several shots being fire. They also reported seeing three men who were on the ground in front of a home that was located in the middle of the 800 block of West Washington. All three of the men were taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center for treatment of their injuries which authorities report as being non-life threatening. Police say they do not have any suspect in the case at this time.

Peoria County Accident Injures Edwards Woman

(Peoria County, IL) -- A two vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon has left an Edwards woman injured. Authorities say the accident happened on Route 150 at Heinz Road. 31-year old Maudie Barbour was eastbound on Route 150 when she crossed over the center line and began traveling in the westbound lane. A westbound semi- trailer that was being driven by 62-year old Dennis Price of Kewanee attempted to avoid the vehicle driven by Barbour and swerved into the eastbound lane. The two units struck each other in the middle of the road. Barbour was injured and was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for treatment of injuries suffered in the accident. Barbour was cited for improper lane usage, DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol.
