(Springfield, IL) -- There's movement on the pension reform case that's before the circuit court in Springfield. Judges will hear arguments on November 20th. A coalition of unions and a few other groups challenged the law, claiming it's unconstitutional because it reduces their benefits. The state argues the law will hold up in court despite a clause in the Illinois Constitution that says pension benefits can't be diminished or impaired.
