Cuba Man Arrested For Endangering Child (Canton, IL) -- A Cuba man is facing charges after an investigation by Canton police and Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Authorities say it was brought to the attention of DCFS officials that a 14-month old child was in possession of hypodermic needles that contained heroin on August 27th of this year. During their investigation it was determined that 28-year old Joshua Keim was the caregiver in charge of the child at the time of the incident. The child was taken to Graham Hospital the following day for drug testing. There were no injuries. There were no drugs found in the child's system. Keim was arrested on Thursday of last week on charges of endangering the life and health of a child. He was taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed. Keim was then released after posting a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee. He has a November Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.
Police Arrest Canton Man On Domestic Battery Charges (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after Canton police were dispatched to an address in the 900 block of West Old Locust Street in Canton Thursday of last week at just before 6. Police say that the complainant, a 36-year old Canton female was arguing with 26-year old Romell Robinson. During the argument, an 8-year old Canton male attempted to intervene. Robinson allegedly pushed the boy who ended up on the couch but suffered minor injuries with scratches. Robinson was then arrested on domestic battery charges and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. He was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
Routine Business Check Leads To Arrest (Canton, IL) -- A routine business check at a downtown tavern resulted in the arrest of a Canton man over the weekend. During the check, police observed a male in possession of a hitter pipe in the beer garden at Jack's Bar on East Elm Street in Canton Sunday morning at just after 12:30. The man was identified as 27-year old Rocky A. Garwood. An investigation also found that Garwood was wanted on a 2010 McDonough County Felony Warrant. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on the charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia as well as the warrant. Garwood was given a notice to appear on the new drug paraphernalia charges and given a November Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. However, he was unable to post bond for the McDonough County Warrant and was taken to the Fulton County Jail to await pick up by authorities from McDonough County.
Warrant Arrest Made (Canton, IL) -- A Banner woman wanted on an active warrant turned herself into authorities last week. 35-year old Jamie Johnson was wanted on a 2014 Mason County Warrant for speeding. She turned herself in at the Canton Police Department on Tuesday of last week at about 4:30 in the afternoon. She posted a $400 cash bond and a $20 processing fee and was then released. Johnson was given an October Mason County Circuit Court date in Havana.
