.Chicago Man Pleads Not Guilty To August Galesburg Murder

(Galesburg, IL) -- A Chicago man was in Knox County Circuit Court on Wednesday to enter a not guilty plea in connection to charges that he killed a Galesburg man earlier this year. 29-year old Christopher Croom also asked for a jury trial. He is facing charges of four counts of murder and one count of possession of a weapon by a felon. Authorities say that Croom allegedly stabbed Melvin Buckner to death on August 13th in the 500 block of West Brooks after the two were in an altercation. Croom is due back in Knox County Circuit Court next month.

Mason City Mother And Son Face Drug Charges

(Mason City, IL) -- A Mason City mother and son could face ten years to life behind bars if they're convicted for allegedly making and selling meth. Police say 42-year-old Denise Taylor and her 23-year-old son are charged with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute the drugs. Williams, who is in state prison, is due in court next Thursday. The arrests are a part of a federal investigation using the name Operation Copperhead.

Urbana Father Charged With Battery To Baby

(Urbana, IL) -- A two-month-old Urbana baby's condition is improving after her father allegedly caused injury to the infant. Police have charged 19-year-old Anthony Wilkins with aggravated battery to a child. The baby suffered internal injuries and five fractured ribs. Wilkins faces six to 30 years in prison if convicted.
