State Cranks Up Airplane Auction For Second Takeoff

(Springfield, IL) -- After Governor Quinn's plan to sell half of the state's airplane fleet failed to get off the ground, the state is going to try again. The Department of Central Management Services will re-list six planes for sale on an online auction site after their first effort produced acceptable offers for only two of the original eight planes by the time bidding closed yesterday. The remaining six will be relisted on the auction site with a new closing date of December 15th. The unsold planes have an estimated value of four-million-dollars.
