New Federal Probe Against Roland Burris

(Chicago, IL) -- Federal authorities are taking a closer look at the dealings of former U.S. Senator Roland Burris. He'd already been under the microscope after Governor Blagojevich appointed him to fill the senate seat left by President Obama. But according to the "Chicago Sun Times," there's a second investigation underway. Authorities won't discuss details, but they say the case is very serious and should not be discussed in open court. The information comes just days before a trial for C. Gregory Turner is supposed to get underway. He's accused of illegally lobbying politicians to remove U.S. sanctions against the president of Zimbabwe. Burris was slated to testify against Turner but lawyers say his credibility is questionable.
