More Choice, Not Dollar Shifting Best Fix For Schools
(Springfield, IL) -- State Representative Ron Sandack is leading the charge against the proposed school funding changes that would give schools money based on their level of need. He says that idea creates winners and losers, and wouldn't do anything to fix the state's other education woes. Sandack says large suburban and downstate cities would see their taxes rise under the proposed school funding changes and the pension cost shift. He says he's sounding the horn and trying to make it known that Democrats have been meeting behind closed doors, possibly trying to reach a one-party deal on how to move forward with the school funding issue.
