Former Dixon Comptroller Fights To Keep Pension

(Dixon, IL) -- The former city comptroller of Dixon is trying to hang onto her pension, despite her conviction for stealing nearly 54-million-dollars from the town when she handled its checkbook. Rita Crundwell's attorneys have told a federal judge that the 90-thousand-dollars in her pension funds shouldn't be taken to satisfy her restitution payments. The city has gotten back nine-million-dollars from the sale of Crundwell's property and 30-million-dollars in a settlement with a bank that Crundwell worked with. Crundwell still owes more than 44-million-dollars in restitution.
