Businesses Face Medical Marijuana Deadline

(Springfield, IL) -- Business owners who want to own a medical marijuana dispensary or a cultivation center need to get their applications in right away. The state will only accept them until 3:00 this afternoon. There's also a 25-thousand-dollar non-refundable application fee. A panel will review the applications and hand out 21 permits for cultivation centers and 60 permits for dispensaries. One application for a cultivation center is expected to be turned in from Vermont in southern Fulton County, while an application for a dispensary is expected to be turned in from Canton.
