Illinois Road Conditions Improving
(Undated) -- Illinois' highway conditions are improving. The latest report by the Reason Foundation puts the state at number 27 in the nation in overall highway performance and cost-effectiveness. That's an improvement for Illinois, which ranked 30th in 2011 and 34th in 2009. The state comes in at number 12 for its fatality rate and number ten for its percentage of deficient bridges. Illinois is also faring pretty well when it comes to road pavement, it ranked 1st for good pavement conditions in rural areas and 3rd for good road conditions in urban areas.
