Former Deputy Sentenced For Child Sex Abuse

(Crystal Lake, IL) -- A former McHenry County sheriff's deputy whose job including investigating child pornography has been sentenced to 50-years in prison for child sex abuse. Gregory Pyle apologized tearfully in federal court today, but the mother of the victim says the repeated abuse over several years left her son angry and depressed to the point of being suicidal. Pyle was arrested after his name surfaced as the result of a federal search of a downstate man's computer in 2010. Pyle still faces state charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
