Farm Bureau Sponsoring Farm Bill Update Meeting

(Lewistown, IL) -- Farmers will need to make some important decisions over the next few months that will impact their operations over the next five years. To assist with the gathering of information to make formed and right decisions, the Fulton County Farm Bureau is sponsoring a Farm Bill Update meeting that will take place this next week. The meeting will begin at 10 in the morning on Monday in the Farm Bureau building that is located at the intersection of Illinois Routes 97 and 100 in Lewistown. Doug Yoder, the Senior Director of Affiliate and Risk Management for the Illinois Farm Bureau will be giving the presentation with the most up to date information available regarding new safety net options for farmers contained in the new Farm Bill. Topics will include: update options on base acreage and payment yields; price loss coverage; ag risk coverage or revenue coverage at the County Level and Individual farm level. A light lunch will be provided following the program. Reservations are required. The program and lunch are free to Farm Bureau members. Others are welcome to attend but there will be a charge of $5.
