Single Americans Now More Than Half U.S. Population

(Undated) -- More than half the adults living in the U.S. are single. The latest figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that 50.2 percent of Americans age 16 or older are not married. It's the first time that's been the case since the government began compiling these statistics in 1976. The percentage of American adults who have never married is now more than 30-percent. In 1976, it was barely over 22-percent.
