Madigan Pushes Cameras In Nursing Home Rooms
(Chicago, IL) -- Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is backing a bill that would allow nursing home residents and their families to have video or audio monitoring devices installed in their rooms. Madigan says she's reacting to the complaints of people who say they have no reliable way to determine whether their loved ones are being properly cared for. Madigan says the surveillance recordings could also be an added tool to resolve disputes about suspected abuse or negligence.
