Thousands Apply For Medical Pot In First Few Days

(Springfield, IL) -- Thousands of people are trying to get licensed to smoke medical marijuana in Illinois. The state started accepting applications earlier this week. Officials say they were expecting a few hundred patients and caregivers to register in the first couple of days, but by the end of Thursday, more than two-thousand people had started the application process. Those who are approved will be allowed to get two-and-a-half-ounces of medical pot every two weeks.
